Taj Mahal Garden

Taj mahal beautiful wonder of the world located at Agra, was recently voted as the top wonder of the world. This wonder is beautiful due to its fine Persian architectural work. Garden near this historical monument adds charm to its beauty. Taj mahal garden is green and consists on ornamental plants of different varieties. Besides these plants one can find flowers and fruit trees of various types.

The garden is known as charbagh garden symbolizing the four flowing Rivers of Paradise where one is made of water, other of milk, the third of wine, and fourth of honey. Two marble canals studded with fountains divide this garden into four sections. Each flowerbed in this garden consists of exactly four hundred plants and thus gives us an idea about the elaborate symmetry involved in designing the Taj mahal.

Ali Mardan, the engineer who designed the Shalimar, designed taj garden. The Taj Mahal of Agra is considered as the jewel of Mughal architecture and the garden has a lot of significance in Islamic architecture.

Taj Mahal Facts

Taj mahal of Agra is no doubt one of the top wonders of the world. When construction of this wonder was completed, Shah Jahan had planned another Taj mahal in black marble on other bank of Yamumna river. Taj mahal is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1983 and known as "The jewel of Muslim art in India".
It took almost 22 years to complete building the Taj Mahal at Agra..
It is believed that Shah Jahan commanded that the hands of the craftsmen and architect be severed off following the creation of Taj Mahal to ensure that another such monument is not built again.

Taj Mahal Agra

Taj mahal of Agra is one of the best historic places in India. As one speaks about Taj Mahal of Agra, the very next thought that comes into mind about the eternal love emperor Shah Jahan had for his wife Mumtaz. Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, between 1631 and 1654 on the bank of River Yamuna.

For almost 22 years 20 thousand people were working on this beautiful wonder. Ustad Isa an Iranian architect designed this lovely sculpture. Semi-transparent marble from Rajasthan was transported on 1000 elephants, Jasper was brought in from Punjab, while the Crystal was imported all the way from China, turquoise from Tibet, whereas Saphire was imported from Sri Lanka. This fine architectural tomb was completed in
1653 at a cost of 32 million.
